What to do if you aren't happy with your NDIS package

HUNDREDS of people across the Toowoomba are now getting their packages with the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

The nationwide program is supposed to give more power to people needing support, but what happens if you're not happy with your package?

Several advocacy organisations, including Queensland Advocacy Incorporated, have received funding from the Department of Social Services to help people needing to appeal their NDIS services.

A spokesperson for the organisation said there were avenues for people dissatisfied with any decision made by the NDIA.

"If you think a decision made by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) about you is wrong, you can submit an application for internal review of a decision," the statement said.

"Any person directly affected by a decision of the NDIA can request such a review.

"Decisions such as being accepted as a participant of the NDIS or the level of support deemed reasonable and necessary are reviewable."
